The Martians Exhibition Comes to Daytona Beach

Did you know that some of the most influential Hungarian scientists of the 20th century were nicknamed “The Martians” in the United States?

Their extraordinary intellect, groundbreaking discoveries, and mysterious Hungarian language led their American colleagues to joke that they must have come from another planet. They were not from Mars — they came from Hungary, and many began their remarkable journeys in Budapest.

Following presentations in Budapest, Washington, D.C., and Minnesota, The Martians Exhibition is coming to Downtown Daytona Beach.

The free, bilingual outdoor exhibition will be on display from September 21 through October 15, 2026, at the Riverfront Esplanade, near the Splash Pad on Beach Street.

Admission is free.

Visitors of all ages are invited to discover the inspiring stories of Hungarian-born scientists, inventors, and Nobel laureates whose achievements helped transform science, medicine, engineering, technology, and the modern world.
